We at KFC are proudly a Venezuelan Social Production Company and follow each one of the principles that include us in that group of industries. Our humanist and socialist philosophies are a part of our work, in a way that our growth is in proportion to the growth of our workers, our community and our country.
One of the basic principles is that part of our profits go to an equal share among partners and another part is transferred to social development projects and plans for the community. We deliver a percentage of all of our invoices to the Social Fund. To us, solidarity, cooperation and equality values are more important than rentability.
We are also constantly looking for different ways to contribute to the community and environment, so we are making efforts to create humanitarian projects.
We are currently working for the creation of a shelter for children at risk. This shelter will be the home of 20 children of ages 4-6.
These children will grow as brothers and sisters until they finish their high school period. Then, through scholarship programs, they will leave to recieve a college education, in which they will complement their initial education, moral base and skills acquiered in their 12 year stay in the shelter.
More than a shelter, it will be a home for children who have been through different situations in which they are left without the proper cares a child requieres. The main goal of this space is to provide care and mental and physicall fitness of the children. They will be attended by proffesionals in sociolgy, phsycollogy, therapy and education, as well as doctors and nurses. These professionals will work according to a set of established rules that specify the way the children will be treated and how they will be accomodated, depending on their age and gender. The medical crew will be in charge of studying each child in order to be aware of any special medical need, constant evaluation or treatment that they may recquiere.
We have currently developed 30 percent of the project and every day more people come together to support this beautiful iniciative. We hope that as time goes by more people becom involved, allowing in a near future the construction of many more shelters. We also hope it becomes a place for the families to unite in social inclusion, considering that children are entitled to rights and we as citizens must work in order that they are not violated.
